| Living close to the ocean means being lucky to be able to enjoy the beach. In fact, the coastline of Barcelona is actually divided into several beaches, a little bit for everybody. Anyone who wants to be seen and meet new people, goes to Platja Barceloneta. During the day, there are people from all over the world enjoying their holiday. At night, they move to the nearby bars and clubs at the Vila Olímpica, where the athletes at the 1992 Olympics were housed. Those who like to go skinny-dipping or just generally party, should choose Platja Mar Bella. |
| My favorite section of the beaches is Platja Nova Mar Bella where I love to watch the calming movement of the waves while listening to the mellow sound of the music that the wind carries over from the chiringuitos. If you walk along the Barcelona seafront at night, you might hear the sound of drums. And if you follow that sound, you might even find some firedancers (right) - especially on full moon. Who knows? Barcelona is full of surprises! |
