Our exclusive student residence, the Colegio Mayor Sant Jordi, has recently moved into brand new, purpose-built premises about 500 metres from the old residence building.

The new residence is simply stunning. Designed by a local architect working in close collaboration with the residence Director, the result is a beautiful, spacious and comfortable residence building which offers students a full range of facilities.

There are 135 bedrooms, mostly doubles, providing accommodation for up to 240 students. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom, as well as ample cupboard and desk space. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and they all have airconditioning as well as Internet connections and phones (for incoming calls only).

The bedrooms are located in two towers with a maximum of 17 bedrooms per floor. There are two large lifts in each tower
as well as staircases for emergency access.

In addition to the bedrooms the residence offers students:

  • A large, bright dining room served by a state-of-the-art kitchen
  • A spacious bar and lounge area with TV and vending machines
  • A computer room with more than 20 PCs all linked to the Internet

  • A cavernous sports hall suitable for five-aside football, basketball or other sports
  • A laundrette with several machines for both washing and drying

  • A garden where students can relax in the open-air
  • 24-hour reception service
  • Key card access to bedrooms and other facilities
  • Wi-Fi Internet connection throughout the communal areas

The residence is also able to cater for disabled students.

The new Colegio Sant Jordi must be one of the best designed and most impressive student residences in the world. As such, demand for rooms is always going to be very high so we urge students to make their reservations as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Transportation
The Maria Cristina underground station is just a 10-minute walk away from the residence. Trains from Maria Cristina (Line 3) take around 12-15 minutes to reach the Plaza Catalunya from where it's a 5-minute walk to the school.

The number 66 bus runs along the Avenida Sarria, just beside the residence) and also goes to the Plaza Catalunya (journey time 15-20 minutes).

The Diagonal, one of Barcelona's main thoroughfares is around 250 metres form the residence and there are several bus routes that run along Diagonal and then go down to the centre of the city. Bus number 7, for example, runs down to the Gran Via from where it's just a 5-minute walk to the school.

In July, August and September only, accommodation is available in one of two student residences.

Please note Student residences can be relatively noisy places to stay.

For this reason we recommend that students consider how important peace and quiet is to them before reserving a place in a residence which they will be sharing with a large number of young (and sometimes noisy) people.
