Chris Naughton is a graduate of Sheffield University, where he majored in Sociology with a Japanese component. He went to Japan in 1996 and taught in High Schools, Junior High Schools and Universities in the Kanto Area (Greater Tokyo). In 1998 he ventured into freelance translation (Japanese to English) upon gaining the Level 1 Japanese Proficiency Test (equivalent to Japanese University Entrance Level). His main interests are keeping fit, photography, developing his entrepreneurial instincts and international cross cultural issues.

Other sessions

Our symposium is for inexperienced as well as experienced translators, translating both specialised and non-specialised texts into or out of Spanish or English.

There will be several sessions for translators and teachers of translation on different aspects of translation from speakers with experience of a range of translation types and contexts. There will be an indication of whether each session is for experienced or inexperienced translators.
