New Technology Courses
Our technology courses
The Internet Department offers different types of teacher training to suit the needs of students within the school and also participants from other centres.
Our training courses range from one hour pre-service introductions to the integration of new technologies in the classroom to longer courses looking at a wide range of software packages and their application in English language teaching.
Forthcoming courses
Pre-service introduction to using the Internet for ELT
A one-hour introduction, looking at the potential of the Internet in ELT. This course is in fact one of the sessions on our our CELTA courses and is not open to the general public.
- Dates: Determined by your course tutor
The Internet for language teachers and learners
A regular four-hour session held to coincide with our CELTA, CELTYL and DELTA courses, but also open to teachers not taking those courses. The session looks at the resources available on the Internet for English language teachers and learners; considers criteria for evaluating them; examines one-off lessons based on online resources as well as some of the communicative tools the Internet provides; and looks briefly at some of the basic computer skills a language teacher should possess or acquire.
- Next dates: Consult Gloria (C3) or Tom (Internet Room)
In-house training
If you have specific needs or a large group of teachers who need training, why not consider having IH Barcelona staff come to your centre to give training sessions?
As with nearly all the training courses IH Barcelona offers, our technology courses can be tailor-made for your purposes and delivered for your staff at your own centre.
Other courses
Among the other technology courses we offer at IH Barcelona is the Technologies in the English Classroom course.
Note that the above course is open only to local secondary school teachers. Applications for it should be made directly to the Departament d'Ensenyament.
