Spanish courses in Mataró

If you are new in Spain and the Barcelona area and want to study Spanish in an interesting and methodical way, or maybe would like to improve the Spanish you already have, then we are school for you.

International House teachers are fully qualified, experienced native Spanish graduates with postgraduate language teaching qualifications trained to teach in an interesting and communicative way.

We have no set programme for learners of Spanish and instead run a system of profiling courses according to the needs of each student or group. However, a typical course would be 3 hours weekly divided into two days, one-and-a-half hours a day.

Official examinations

If you are interested in official Spanish educational qualifications we offer preparation courses for the DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera at the three levels:

• Diploma de Español (Nivel Inicial)
  This accredits sufficient knowledge of the language to allow control in situations that require an elementary use of the language.
• Diploma de Español (Nivel Intermedio)
  This accredits necessary knowledge of the language to allow communication in everyday situations which do not require specialized terms.
• Diploma de Español (Nivel Superior)
  This accredits advanced knowledge of the language allowing communication in all situations requiring advanced use of the language and a knowledge of cultural background.

How to get there

International House Mataró is well communicated by both road and train, being only 30 minutes from Barcelona and very close the Costa Brava region.

Arriving by train

Mataró is on the Cercanias/Rodalies C1 local train line running to and from the Costa Brava region to Barcelona. Mataró is, in fact, the terminal station for the train that runs to Barcelona airport. The school is a convenient 3-minute-walk from the station.

Arriving by road

If you come by road, the school is easily accessed from the main coastal road, the N11, as it passes through Mataró, or from the motorway that passes through the hills behind the town, the C32. For precise directions contact the school.
