Intensive Spanish + Mexican Cooking Course

Mexican cuisine is justifiably famous all over the world. The range of dishes and flavours is quite astonishing and you don't have to be an expert to be able to make some of the most delicious dishes at home.
But you will need some help and advice - and that's what we can provide at IH Riviera Maya. What's more our kitchen is located in our beautiful garden, so there is plenty of space for everyone to work.
The first class includes a visit to a typical grocery store and a market in Playa so that students can learn the names of all basic ingredients. The cooking classes themselves start by demonstrating some of the basics of Mexican cooking - guacamole, fajitas, pico de gallo (tex-mex sauce), quesadillas, molletes, tacos, enchiladas, enfrijoladas, sopes and pambazos - and then we move on to more specialised dishes such as mole, pozole, pipian, tamales and adobo.
We also teach students how to make a delicious flan de cajeta and other typical Mexican desserts.
All the ingredients are included in the course fee and students can also consume everything that's been produced once the class is over.
