Located in the centre of Palma de Mallorca, established in 1982, IH Palma offers courses for language teachers and learners, as well as being an authorised centre for Cambridge English examinations.
IH Palma offers offers initial teacher training (TEFL) courses leading to the Cambridge CELTA qualification, the most well-known and respected of the initial TEFL/ESOL teacher training qualifications.
International House is the organisation that created the original course to which Cambridge later gave its name: no organisation can offer more experience and expertise in the delivery of CELTA courses than IH.
The school is also well-known for providing training courses for teachers in Mallorca; we have trained teachers of Catalan for the local government, and given many seminars.
We also offer high quality Spanish courses, attracting students from all over the world, including many on the German Bildungsurlaub scheme, as well as on the EU's Leonardo da Vinci progamme.
Our thriving English and German Departments provide language training for local Palma residents.
The school also has a large department dedicated to work-based learning: We give language classes in many public and private corporations, often funded through EU initiatives.
IH Palma also belongs to the IHLS Group [ website ], which includes seven language schools in the north-east of Spain (Catalonia and Aragon) - in Barcelona, Mataró, Palma de Mallorca, Sabadell, Tarragona, Terrassa and Zaragoza.
Founded in 1953, International House is a network of more than 130 schools around the world [ website ], all committed to the highest standards in education and business.
A key aim of International House is to raise the standards of language teaching around the world. One important way in which we do this is through Teacher Training courses for which International House has a world-wide reputation. We train our own (as well as many other schools') teachers to enable language students to learn the language of their choice simply, quickly and efficiently in a rich linguistic and cultural environment.
To ensure that every school maintains the high standards that are specified in the Affiliation Agreement, an external assessor visits each school every two years and conducts a thorough investigation into all aspects of the school's activities. These visits ensure that the unparalleled reputation International House enjoys for the quality of its services is safeguarded.
