Ben Warren Prize: Shortlist 2006
The shortlisted books for the 2006 prize are as follows (in alphabetical order of title):
An A–Z of ELT
As an author can only be awarded the Ben Warren prize a maximum of twice, Scott Thornbury's A–Z is not in fact eligible to win the prize for a book published in 2006 as Scott won in 1999 and 2001.
However, we do wish to give the author and book a special commendation as it more than fulfils the criteria for a winner. It is innovative, highly informative and imminently readable. In fact it is difficult to put it down once started. It is likely that this book will become a standard work for all ELT establishments for many years to come.
